Essay on Mining Politics in Indonesia (€1)

I'm mostly focused on who controls what mines in Indonesia today, and how that might give us clues as to how we can start putting together international institutions that can regulate mining practices.

Free essay on Peacebuilding in Medieval Southwest Asia

I consider here the siege of Jerusalem by the Crusaders in 1099 in the context of how previous sieges in the region had taken place. The Crusaders were especially violent and cruel, especially compared with the Jihadists of previous centuries who brought about a largely peaceful regime where different religious communities were able to live and work together in peace.

New Album Release

exululamus: Naawan Sessions

We are excited to publish a two volume album set by exululamus titled 'Naawan Sessions' vol 1 and vol 2.

These albums were recording in Naawan over about a year from Spring of 2025 to early 2026.  The core of the work is an exploration of the electric viola, which provides much of the ambience and some of the lead.  There are a lot of rattles and bells.  There are no drums on the album, although there is quite a bit of beatboxing, and the rhythmic dynamics are more subtle than in exululamus' previous works.  There is also more space, largely due to a new mixing practice by which the volumes of the individual tracks are shifted, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.  The result is that the fluidity and textures of the layers of sound are more digestible.  The  first volume has more of the electric viola up front, the second volume has more of an acoustic violin and the rosewood flute as the lead instruments.

Acut Fitzgerald Publishing House:

Uniting against Tyranny

We are a small, yet ambitious, publishing house operating with a clear goal of resisting tyranny.  This is a global project, and we work to empower scholars who share our passion for freedom, justice, and peace for all the people of the world.

We welcome projects that challenge the existing and entrenched dogmas that continue to work to exploit people and resources in a greedy quest for more profit.  We seek to build an institution to organize scholarly and artistic work against this practice, serving as, we hope, a voice for liberation and a venue for community construction.

We are all on this rock together, we can work together for a better world for future generations.
